Beauty is a Practice
Small choices can transform an ordinary day
I’ve been spending my days finishing jewelry for a huge art show next weekend.
Finishing isn’t glamorous (although the resulting shine sure is). Each piece goes through multiple rounds of sanding and polishing to achieve a glossy luster that has become a signature of my work. It requires strong hands, exceptionally high standards, and an unwavering commitment to the smallest details.
As I've been up to my elbows in finishing this week, I've found myself thinking less about jewelry and more about why beauty really matters.
Beauty is available to us every day, in moments big and small. When we choose to notice it, we invite more joy, presence, and abundance into our lives.
I encourage you to recognize when you choose beauty in your life and note how it makes you feel.
Lighting the fancy candle.
Buying yourself flowers at the grocery store.
Wearing your favorite lipstick just because.
Choosing a silk blouse on an ordinary Tuesday.
Putting on the earrings that make you hold your head a little higher.
Beauty isn’t frivolous. It is transformative.
Beauty looks different for everyone. What simple ritual or object brings a little more beauty into your day? I'd love to hear your comments!
