My fascination with the body as form has shaped my creative work across disciplines for decades.
I studied interdisciplinary figurative sculpture at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where I developed a deep appreciation for movement, gesture, and the emotional power of form. An intensive study of the evening gown and jewelry collections at the Chicago Historical Society further expanded my understanding of adornment, craftsmanship, and the relationship between objects and the body.
From Silk to Metal
Before founding Unfurl Studio, I created the luxury lingerie brand Toad Lillie, where I used couture dressmaking techniques to sculpt dimension and movement from hand-painted and beaded silk.
Tucks, pleats, folds, and flounces transformed fine fabric into pieces that responded intimately to the body of the wearer. That experience cemented for me what a privilege it is to create beauty that makes someone feel powerful, sensual, confident, and fully themselves.
Today, I bring that same spirit of transformation into sculptural jewelry.
Sculpting Movement
Returning to my roots in figurative sculpture, my current work explores translating the fluidity of fabric into metal.
Wax is shaped gesturally by hand before being cast into bronze and sterling silver. The resulting forms echo the sensual movement of silk, with molten metal reflecting its luminous luster.
My pieces are designed not only to embody movement within the form itself, but also to sway, shift, and dance against the skin of the wearer.
Jewelry That Feels Alive
I hope my work inspires beauty in the way you see yourself and the world around you.
I hope it helps you feel bold, expressive, radiant, and unapologetically individual. I hope it sparks conversation and connection.
But most of all, I hope it brings you joy.
